Description:
The Preserve Louisiana Institute is a non-profit venture aimed at documenting and celebrating the essence of Louisiana life and the uniqueness of its culture. We believe that certain crafts, environments and lifestyles that make Louisiana exceptional are fading. Our goal is to preserve this living history for present and future generations.
The Preserve Louisiana Institute produces 12 documentaries per year for broadcast. The documentaries are also on tour in local theaters throughout the state. The photographs, essays and a DVD of the broadcast materials are packaged in a coffee table book and will be sold annually. A yearly fundraising gala features an evening of documentaries, a photo art show, local music and food as well as an opportunity to meet individuals from each film.
